Creating a brand proposition for a new business

At the very beginning Richard Meek popped into our Ludgate Hill offices for a chat. He was setting up a new financial planning service and needed a branding partner that could support the business from the outset.

Already well known in the financial industry this was Richard's first venture on his own.

To understand the business journey better we sat down with Richard, his partner Wendy Fellows and the team to see where the passions lay, what type of clients the business wanted to speak with as well as understanding the long-term vision of the business.

It was evident how passionate the team was about this business and about how he could support clients with their future finances.

Together we looked at concepts and ideas for logos as well as colours that resonated. It was clear the brand that he wanted for Colmore Partners was understated but confident at the same time.

Alongside the business goals, we also wanted to get a strong understanding of the client himself. We soon discovered that Richard loves to go on walking holidays and spends a lot of time exploring the coast, he’s also incredibly passionate about Birmingham and his family.

Creating a brand for Colmore Partners

Taking on board everything that we had learnt through conversations with the team, our designer got stuck into creating a brand proposition which is understated but professional and leans towards Richard’s passion for the outdoors. It represents who he is but also who the ideal clients are and where they are in lives. It’s a brand that instils trust but also a lifestyle that people want to emulate.

From the outset, Barques created everything from a bespoke website to stationery and even the office fit out. Since then our team of PR specialists, designers and developers have been there to support their journey through media stories, creative content, social media, newsletters and an ongoing strategy.

It’s a partnership that we are incredibly proud to be a part of and continues to grow and develop. Long may it continue.
