Barques launches new website for Smeeton & Dixon

Copied!

Niche providers of commercial property acquisition and investment advice, Midlands based Smeeton & Dixon are financial strategists we have been proud to work alongside since October 2020.

Now live, the company’s new and vividly assertive website was designed and constructed by Barques for directors David Smeeton and Rachel Dixon.

Smoothly navigable, informative and captivating, Smeeton & Dixon’s online site elucidates the company’s proficiency and specialism without unnecessary complexity.

It is a website which platforms this new company in a bold, contemporary style whilst simultaneously demonstrating the directors’ 35+ years of capital market experience.

Following their initial acquisition of a Stratford-Upon-Avon property, David and Rachel asked us to create a brochure showcasing the 13,024 sq ft of office space.

This was just one element of a wider project we undertook with the directors to establish a clear-cut logo and overall brand for Smeeton & Dixon.

Scott Heeks, director at Barques said: “We sat down and presented a series of logos and ideas to David and Rachel to start with. After finalising the brand styling they preferred, we developed the design into the e-signatures, holding page and investment brochure.”

Built to market the company during the early stages of its advancement, the holding page of Smeeton & Dixon’s website was unique and personal by allowing you to click and view the directors' profiles and contact details.

Strikingly vibrant against the monochrome property photographs of Smeeton & Dixon’s portfolio, the distinctive cerulean and dark blue colour motif was a consistent format across the holding page, logo and brochure, and one we have maintained within the new website.

Optimised for mobile devices too, the site provides the visitor with a seamlessly interactive experience with the content and pages which are easy to manoeuvre through.

On the homepage, smaller photographs delicately transition from black and white to colour as you hover over them, adding another layer of engagement with the site's visitors.

“I think it’s good that there isn’t a strict page design, so it's more fluid as you navigate through the website. You’re not just looking at the same page layout, in the same blocks of colours and pictures on every page. It keeps you engaged,” said Craig Sargant, creative artworker at Barques.

Everything is considered and connected to the site as a whole, either through the font style, colour or layout; right down to the ampersand joining the directors’ eponymous surnames.

Such visual consistency is a key reflection of Smeeton & Dixon’s unwavering professionalism and the strength of their business partnership in delivering industry renowned services.
