UK grants and welfare specialist, Auriga Services, provides support solutions for organisations that create social value and enrich people’s lives.
Having administered more than £42 million in grants and funding streams in 2023 for the likes of local authorities, charities, and utility companies, Auriga understands the importance of clear, concise and impactful messaging.
It sought a newly designed website that would enable new and prospective partners to easily access much-needed funds and support solutions for people in need.
Already retained as Auriga’s social media, PR and SEO agency, we were appointed to create a site that was not only accessible but visually striking too.
Users are at the heart of our website design process. That’s why we took time to understand the specific needs, preferences and behaviours of Auriga’s distinct audience types, before tailoring a website experience that would exceed their expectations.
With so much valuable content to view, it became clear that website navigation would be key to the success of the project. We devised a simplified flow to make the user's journey through the website as easy as possible, with navigation placed inside a clear block at the top of the page.
The site’s design emphasises the importance of visual hierarchy, particularly in relation to hero areas and headlines, calls to action and key information. This approach succeeds in guiding the user through each page with ease, improving both readability and engagement.
In addition, calls to action have been strategically placed so that they prompt users to take desired actions, whilst compelling copy further encourages conversion.
The style of photography and video used throughout the website was important in creating a feeling of empathy - encouraging users to think and feel connected to the content presented.
While it goes without saying that the look and feel of the website had to be consistent with the Auriga brand to reinforce its reputation and trust, we wanted to give everything a boost. The result is a clean, uncluttered design that makes content easy to digest, while at the same time being bold, professional and reflective of Auriga's well-regarded position in the sector.
With ‘each number representing an individual helped’, we developed an animated counter to highlight the extent of Auriga’s impact in 2023. It showcases how the organisation has distributed £13.2 million in emergency fuel vouchers, and helped 420,000 individuals and households.
Animated figures feature in a vibrant 'bento' styled layout, which catches the eye and presents Auriga's amazing achievements with colour and boldness.
By adopting Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and applying accessibility software, Recite, we created a truly inclusive website. It successfully removes traditional barriers in accessing online content for users with disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments and people that speak English as a second language.
“Upgrading a website can be a daunting task, but we were in super safe hands with Barques. The team were highly skilled, professional and friendly throughout the process.
The website is exactly what we envisaged, we were thrilled that we commissioned Barques and have seen an increase in visits to our site."
